"This Job Would Be Great If It Wasn't For The Fucking Customers"

Home for lunch. Yay spaghetti.

Fuck, I just want to lie down and go back to sleep now that I'm here and sitting down. I'm exhausted.

I didn't start off the day very well. Instead of getting up and having breakfast immediately, I watched last Sunday's The West Wing on my computer. This didn't leave me much time for a real meal and I ended up at work a little too hungry (but not starving). The Max Velocity energy drink helped a bit, as did a few bites of my co-workers Wasabi Funyuns (which are rather tasty), but actual food was what I needed. Of course, as I said before, now I want to collapse. :)

Earlier, some jackass claimed I didn't give him his $8 in change. According to whatever my supervisor checked, I didn't, but it still doesn't feel right. Maybe it was just 'cause he was a fucking asshole about it, or maybe all customers look the same when they all pay with twenties, but I dunno. Might just be my pride. I was sure I gave that little fucker his cash; I have a memory of it...but I guess it was a different customer. Whatever.

I've been off my game today, though. I know that much. I'm sure it started with being hungry, continued with the fact that customers think I'm fucking psychic and think they don't have to communicate with me at all, and ended with a supervisor telling me that I should try to "keep my area clean" while I'm checking people out. Man, fuck that. When the tide is up, you clear the line. When it's low, then you clean, but if you think you can keep a customer waiting because you wanna tidy up a bit, you're fuckin' stupid.

Someone said to me last week, "You're the most polite checker I've ever had here."

Twice this week, I've been thanked for asking people for their ID when they pay with credit cards. They say no one else ever asks.

I know customer service, motherfucker. People leave my line quickly and happily. And if I screw up even a little, I apologize like I ran over their dog.

Keep my area clean, indeed...

[/rant]

All right, back to the wars.
