We had a bad night. David would not stay asleep unless he was nursing. Then he had a huge poopy diaper in the middle of the night, which of course woke him up completely. John and I were pretty blitzed by morning. I barely registered Rose calling at 6:45 because John got up with her and let me go back to sleep. They reappeared at 7:30 with a Mother's Day breakfast tray for me. The teachers at school had told Rose about this tradition and she had been waiting all week-end to surprise me. I was truly surprised. The last time she had a secret she came home and announced, "You know what we got you for Hannukah, Mommy? Slippers! It's a surprise."

So, we were both sitting in bed eating our cereal. She pointed to the rice crunch-ems on her spoon and announced, "These are books, and I'm sending them to the poor people in my tummy."

Grandpa Jere and Barb called today from Cairo. Rose could not contain herself she was so excited. We didn't have to worry about the relay delay factor because she just talked nonstop, and the whole time she was grinning from ear to ear. Out of town grandparents take note, you are very much remembered and appreciated.
