I was on duty with two kids from 9-5 today. Wimp Actually, I spent from 9-1:30 with my sister and her kids going to gymnastics and the science museum. Then I went back to her house 3:30 to 5:00. Her two year old slept, My sister took the older cousins to the store, and I only had David to deal with. My point is I only spent 2 hours completely by myself with the kids. Hardworking Rose had a very particular outfit she wanted to wear to the science museum. I did the laundry last night, so she could wear her poodle underpants and butterfly socks, and I could wear my poodle socks and butterfly shirt. Wimp I got my sister to drive downtown and figure out where to park. Hardworking I packed lunch for all four kids. Wimp I packed lunch for the grown-ups too, but not enough. Our coping skills with undernapped, overexcited children were not at their optimum level. Hardworking David basically didn’t nap, so I couldn’t nap. At one point, Rose and I were listening to a story c.d. I was on the floor and she covered me with a blanket. It was lovely until David started pulling on my hair and grinning when I looked up at him. Wimp David didn’t nap because I kept hauling him around. Then I didn’t insist Rose go for a walk with us to get him down. I didn’t strap him into the frontpack and march around the house. Hardworking I played the drums for David. He loved it. I played the train whistle for David. He loved it. He shook the rattle and banged the drums for me. Wimp I played musical instruments with David interspersed with letting him complain as I engrossed myself in Frenchie’s Grease memory book and learned about every cast member’s audition. Did you know they wanted Fonzie for Danny Zuko? Wow! Hardworking I did not have one minute completely to myself. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
