Rose and I snuggled on the couch and read a magazine. I did not have to pull David away from the fireplace tools. She got the hole punch and string. I did not have to feed David squash from my fingers. I got the scissors. I did not have to sit on the floor and bounce David's plastic eggs. We followed the directions and made a kite. I did not have to chase David as he ran towards the open toilet. She wanted the string kid length and twirled the kite around the living room. I did not have to hold David as he squirmed and grabbed for her toy. While she put on her pajamas, she told me all the books the kids had brought to show and share. I did not have to nurse David to sleep.

David refused his afternoon nap, so I didn't get one either--not so good. Exhausted boy screamed all through dinner, also not so good. But he then insisted on going to bed half an hour early, and we said ok.
