Except in Seattle, because we are so environmentally conscious, taking out the garbage, recycling, and yard waste is my job. Yard waste is all the goopy, sticky, stinky food scraps. (Currently, no dairy or meat, but they’ll be added with the new year I think.)
At first I was stuffing scraps in plastic containers, but then my sister got me this awesome aluminum can with a lid. Very pretty, very effective in keeping the stink out of the house, but stuff still stuck to it, and I was not so good at reaching in there and really clearing every last bit of oatmeal stuck to tea leaves stuck to rotten banana out. So, for Hannukah I asked for biodegradable bags to use as liners. Lift the bag, and ta-da, you’re done. My sister got it for me. John, who took on the icky task of cleaning the container when I didn’t, is just as pleased. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
