My mom babysat last night and said David got very sad because he missed his Mommy. Perhaps, he was taking it out on his Mommy today. It’s not that he was ferocious to me. It’s just that he was sort of going through the motions when I was around, but when various grandparents showed up, he bloomed.

I guess I didn’t hear him when he said he didn’t want to go to Tot Shabbat. He really didn’t want to go. At first he tried to play in the busy parking lot. When I nixed that, he kept insisting that we leave the sanctuary and hang out in the lobby. I finally lured him back in with a chance to touch the Torah, but his mood did not lighten. I thought he’s overtired, hungry, out of his routine, and then we got home to Noemi and Darrel and his face broke out in a grin. They had a cheerful, fabulous puzzle solving, weed pulling, book reading time together.

He did go down well for a nap with me. But when he got up, it was just low energy. That is until my mom came over for dinner, and suddenly, we had happy boy again. They played bat the bubbles and giggled a lot. It was great to hear through the bedroom window.
