It's multi-cultural week at Rose's school, and I was the guest speaker. I did five minutes on a five thousand year old culture and religion. It went really well.

First, I told them Judaism is a religion with its own holidays, and I described a few. Than I asked who knew the golden rule. They all should since they talk about it regularly. I had everyone think of something that showed them following the golden rule. I elicited answers and then told them all those examples were all part of our culture too; they were called mitzvahs.

But it's not just holidays, stories, and rules, it's a culture of dancing too! I spent the next 20 minutes teaching them the horah. They were good listeners. They tried really hard. They couldn't believe you actually woop when you go into the center. Yep, wooping is part of my culture.
