My friend's in the band. I so rarely get to say that. I'm just not cool enough to hang with people who play music, put a band together, put out a c.d., and then go on tour. But, in fact, I have two friends who've done that. They are brothers, and in the vast network that is fictive kin, my much younger cousins. Ben's punk band came through town a few years ago, and Mom and I went to a seedy club downtown to see them. Then the band crashed at her pad.

Dan's band, Lovers in Arms, is acoustic/soul/folk rock. They are playing at Tost in Fremont this Saturday at 9:00. So come on out y'all and hang with the band.
