I had already taken three trips to the car to bring their snacks, toys, coats, etc. The kids were finally strapped into their car seats and eating. I opened their door and Rose said, "Could I have some of David's water or yours?"

I held out my hand to show her the water bottle I gone back to the house to get just for her. I got a "Mom you're the greatest."

Then David said, "Is this the only coloring book you brought for me?"

I said, "Yes."

He said, "And you brought, Harold, the best toy ever. Thank you!"

They may have been high on chocolate, but those words of appreciation carried me a long ways today.
