One chilly evening I was reading a Magic treehouse book on the white couch when I heard my mom say, "I'm ready Rose." I had just finished a chapter of my book and I thought "that's a good stopping place" so I said "Yes." She had promised she would read me a little of a chapter book I had just boght from the book fair at my school. The book was called Dragon Slippers. I handed her the book and she started reading. It was a really good book now that I understood it. It was about a girl whos parents had died so her aunt and uncle were taking care her and her brother Hagen. The girls name was creelis but people called her creel. My mom finished two chapters and two pages and then she said "It's past your bedtime Rose, please go to bed." "Ah I don't want to go to bed" I said but I went to bed anyway. The reason I didn't want to bed was because I wanted my mom to read more of the book. The reason I wanted my mom to read more was because the book was so good and exciting. I might have read more by myself if I had thought I could and not thought my mom would be sad not to hear the rest of the story.

Rose went on to read all three books in the trilogy by herself. She highly recommends them.
