Rose, Miriam, and my mom had a big exciting adventure last week-end. They went to astronomy camp. I have no deep interest in astronomy (sorry Jim M. if you're reading this), so I'm thrilled Mom is there to introduce them.

I was very nervous about the trip because the whole thing is predicated on looking at stars. To look at stars it has to be dark. To be dark it has to be late. Very late. Way past bedtime. So, they stayed up very late, and there was no permanent damage.

They got to look at the craters of the moon and build their own Gallileoscopes. They attended lectures in a planetarium, and even if they didn't retain every detail, they got excited about stars.
