snow day take 2

It's an inch and a half of snow folks, that's it. I managed to pull the car out of the driveway so I could move the recycling can out to the curb. That was the extent of my driving today. And that's all that felt safe.

The roads are icy. That's good for sledding, sort of. I didn't really enjoy my one ride down a steep hill. David managed to go down twice and get back up under his own power.

What Rose is wearing:

--brand new red snow boots she wanted to make sure she had before the big Thanksgiving hike
--2 pairs of socks
--Hannah Anderson fleece pants one size too small that I found at Value Village last year
--faded, stained pink top
--pink snowproof overalls that I got at Value Village last summer
--pink winter jacket that's a little too small
--pink hat with pom pom
--mittens Grammy made

What David is wearing:

--Rose's old snow boots, black with snowflakes on them. I'm thrilled they fit
--REI long underwear Aunt Julia bought him last year
--an ever changing pair of pants because he does not have snow pants and is getting constantly soaked
--long sleeved top
--Ariana's old winter coat
--Ariana's old winter hat
--mittens Grammy made
--Ariana's old mittens on top
--my scarf
--Ariana's old winter hat

Everyone has way more fun (including Mommy) if they are well outfitted, and we are close thanks to the hand-me down train.

Interesting note on gender identification: Some girls at the library could not decide if David was a boy or a girl. They finally asked me, and then they asked why David was wearing girl boots. The boots are black with sparkly snowflakes on them. They are a little bit girly. The pink pants and purple jacket, however, were most definitely bought in the girl section. Why did they past muster and the boots not? Luckily, David ignored them.
