As part of the Purim celebration last night, the synagogue welcoming committee did a skit about how supportive and welcoming and inclusive our synagogue is of the GLBT community. There were puppets and a high kicking chorus line with several rabbis and board members, all in costume of course, singing "It's ok to be gay. You can come here and pray."

So, on our way back to the car Rose and I had this conversation.

Rose: What is gay?
Me: It's when a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman.
Rose: Like Sandy and Chama or Joel and Lish? What's wrong with that?
Me: And Rebecca and Christi; Ellen and Wendy. Nothing. But some people think being gay is wrong.
Rose: That's weird. There's nothing wrong with that.
