We just got back from our annual family trip to Chelan. It's like seeing the marks on the wall as your kid grows. I remember bouncing baby Rose in the pool, and here she is making up skits that involve falling off a ledge into the water. I remember feeling trapped in the room because the kids wouldn't go to sleep for us, let alone anyone else. This year the grandparents tucked the kids in while John and I saw The Dark Knight (which I loved by the way). I remember going to the water park having to play in the wading pool the whole time; this year I went down every ride I wanted to. I even tried the lie on your stomach matt racing ride which looked terrifying and I discovered I loved. David was free to go where he wanted. He hung with me or John for the fun and company, but he was capable of being on his own.

I did paddle boarding for the first time (nervewracking), went kayaking (pleasant), drank cold froufrou drinks (pleasant), and took the kids geocaching in the 90 degree heat (fun but too hot). The water park is still my favorite.
