Rose's Language Arts class is doing book groups. They each get to pick a non-fiction book for the group to read and discuss, but the total pages for the three books has to be 300-500 pages. Rose is the last one to pick her book, and there are only 100 pages left.

She asked me for advice, and I wasn't much help. All of our non-fiction books are about teaching writing (mine), thinking about math (John), or too adult--I suggested Penn and Teller's How to Play with Your Food, but she pointed out that the jokes about sex might not be appropriate. Plus, all our books are too long.

So, do you happen to have a favorite non-fiction book, YA appropriate, on the short side? Personally, I think well written is more important than subject matter.

P.S. I don't think they are allowed to do autobiography or how to.
