As you know, this summer David was given the privilege of crossing Greenwood by himself, which meant he could walk to and from the library by himself, which meant he could be in the library by himself. A lot of privilege that he hadn't yet tapped into. David is lazy and would prefer to be driven to the library 4 blocks away. But today, there was some special Minecraft event happening at the library from 2-4. John and I walked him there to make sure he was registered and to pick up our library holds, and then we told the person in charge that David could check himself out and walk himself home. David was completely non-plussed. No problem, bye parents. He made it home safely.
