The family has now watched Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and we have just finished the first season of Deep Space Nine. DS9 is my favorite of the shows, but I worried that the slower pace and focus on religion and politics would scare the kids away. Not a problem. They are finding characters they love (Kira, Benjamin) and characters they hate (Vendic Win) and seem to be following the intricacies of creating a government from scratch and finding your soul after you've been a guerilla fighter. And, of course, who doesn't love to laugh at Quark. I told John we were skipping the alternate universe where Kira turns into a B&D sex queen. They can see that on their own.
