I went there in my twenties when I did not know how to dance and had to fend off absurd come-ons. I could not wait to get back with John. It's like a place out of time, the Paris swinging jazz scene alive.
We went on a Wednesday and had an amazing time. The crowd was a total mix of ages. The dancers a total mix of levels. We were on the high end, and with just 5 or 6 couples on the floor at a time had plenty of room to swing out. I loved the band. I loved the bartender. We stayed for just an hour because of late night transportation home, and it was perfect. We went back Friday night with E & G, and the crowds flipped John out. It was like pinball dancing. You could not move without bumping into someone, or as John noted, without someone bumping into you since our floor craft was much more careful than most others. We did not like the band as much either. Still, it was caveau, and I hope it lasts forever. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
