So I just got back from this hearing, which was pretty cool. I saw Kerry for the first time in person - he hobbled into the room on crutches. I guess a few Republicans pulled a Tonya Harding on him walking into the Hart Senate building.

...my mind is numb. Watching hot air be lobbed back and forth for three hours'll do that to you. It did get interesting, however, when several Code Pink activists jumped up and started yelling "No to Bolton!" right before Chris Dodd was gonna speak.

Talk about the inopportune moment - Code Pink gives Lugar, Hagel and co. free-reign to ramble on, and then instead decides to jump up and steal the thunder from the guy who's about to tear Bolton a new one, Christopher Dodd. Not the smartest protesters you could bump into, but oh well...

And the Capitol Police waited longer than Bush did to put down his copy of My Pet Goat to go escort them out. But it made for some awkward moments - one of the protesters had said her piece and clearly expected to have been tackled by that point, because suddenly she just clammed up...and it was like nobody knew what to do. She just stood there. And the panel just stared back at her. And it was just quiet.

And for about 30 seconds, it was hilarious.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to resuscitate my brain - before they start talking about my right to life - and write this story.
