'Just got back from a distance-learning class Steve Scully, of Washington Journal fame, teaches up at C-SPAN, where I got to debate Anna Marie Cox, of Wonkette fame, about the merits of J-school.
Well, ok, I lied - it wasn't a debate - we basically saw eye to eye. She started by saying, "Look, if you want to learn journalism, don't go to journalism school..." And I agree, once you get to the heart of the point she's making. But we had this brief back-and-forth - entirely on camera, which was a little unnerving. (Edge: Wonkette) Anyways, she seems like a nice girl, although she repeatedly made the point that she "does not play well with others," which makes you wonder. But I'm definitely a fan. And her quote of the day, regarding the little illustrated "Wonkette and Cat" banner at the top of her blog: "That's not me, but it is my pussy." Which prompted Steve Scully to desperately call the producers to cut away and "roll tape, roll tape, please roll the damn tape." You can't make this stuff up.
