I gotta say though, I don't know how I feel about Santorum getting booted. Somehow the Senate won't feel complete without a distinct nutjob like Rick. And let's hope his getting ousted doesn't diminish his well-deserved namesake.

When I was in DC for J-school, Santorum's press secretary preempted our reporter covering a Pennsylvania paper, and told him if he ever brought that up with Santorum, the (former) Senator would never speak to him again.

And how bout the House Dems creaming the GOP? Did Pombo lose yet? How bout Doolittle? ...Maybe? Nancy Pelosi as Speaker! She should celebrate with some new botox! (Okay, bad joke. But if you've ever seen the woman up close...)

'Seems likely the Dems'll take the Senate, too. Interesting how this election was a (very much needed) referendum on our fun adventure in Iraq - but it looks like the left might've jumped the gun a tad early by ousting Faux-Dem Joe Lieberman ... even if he does make out with Bush before States of the Union. If he'd won the primary, it'd be all-but-certain by now that the Democrats would have the Senate, instead of waiting on pins and needles for Montana and Virginia.

...am I right on that? Fuck if I know. It's 1 a.m. and I've been covering local elections all day.
