Ecca
My Journal

My feet will wander in distant lands, my heart drink its fill at strange fountains, until I forget all desires but the longing for home.

Keep in touch.

Old is New, or, 2500 Words at 1 AM

So, I'm going into my Drafts folder to find this e-mail I started to send someone a resume, right?
and there's this old email I was going to send to a publisher, a story I wrote about this really cool experiment at OMSI, right?

And I think to myself,
How could getting a job (so I have an income so I can get on with my life and meet people and afford my sanity-preserving hobbies and keep my bargain with my mentor and stopp beating myself about the head with all this uncertainty) be more important than revising an old story I didn't have the guts to send out in the first place, right?

No, actually, I just got distracted. And thought, if I thought at all, I can stay up. I don't have to be at work until 8 am tomorrow.

So I revised, and rewrote, and expanded, and corrected, and didn't officially spell-check but hope you don't mind. Most of them are accepted alternative spellings somewhere in the world.

I also thought there was time to put it up on my "esoterica" collection, which I forgot means formatting the whole thing into HTML, by hand, the way I do it. Which is oddly relaxing, but very time-consuming.

So it's now 1 am, and I'm determined to send this resume out tonight ANYWAY, but by golly I'm gonna put it off a little longer. I'm announcing this new offering first, because I'd really love to think that revising this story (and putting in enough details to satisfy extra-credit requirements for some science schools)... that this effort at self-publication was actually possibly going to get read.

By you.

So feel free to read it, and all.

Click on "esoterica" above, and then click on "green fire" from the list of contents.

And then come back here and tell me what you think!

G'night, I'm back to my official business. Really. Until next time.
