Well, as you may or may not know I received a summons to jury duty the other day. I was called for the week of November 18 - which is the last full week of school. That is really not a good time to be missing classes, and because of when finals start I probably wouldn't have the time to go to all of my Professors and make up what I missed. So I called in and asked if I could postpone jury duty until August. August is the earliest I could do it without going insane. 'Cause this semester I have school, then over winter break I'm going to visit my family and possibly take a winter intensive class, then I have school and my wedding next semester, and the bar review and the bar after graduation. I get little enough sleep as it is and the last thing I need is one other thing to deal with. The person I talked to was very cool and understanding, however you can only postpone for 90 days. She put me down for February 18. She also said I could call back in January and ask for it to be postponed again, if the person I spoke with then was understanding they would put it off for another three months. She said the most you're allowed to postpone is 3 times - which would put me in August. I hope I can postpone all three times, that would make life much easier for me. But if I have to serve in February at least I have the time to make up what I missed before finals roll around. Though I dread doing something that stressful right before my wedding.

I'm still sick today and I feel horrible. My head is all stuffed up, I still have a sinus headache, my throat is all scratchy, and I'm really out of it from the cold meds I'm on. I really shouldn't be at school today. A smart person would stay home and get the rest they needed to get better. But not me (and probably not most law students). I'm here even though I'm sick as all hell and even though this will probably just make it all the worse. Blah. This is so not cool. Especially since this Saturday night I'm going to be outside the whole evening - I'm going to Knott's Halloween Haunt with Rob, Kat, and Mindy and I won't miss that no matter how ill I am.

Only 9 more days until my 28th birthday. I feel so old.
