Tonight Rob and I headed over to Citywalk. We stopped at Shanghai and Mein for dinner and then went to Sam Goody / Suncoast. I needed to pick up a $20 gift card for a game show I'm running next week. I need to teach Thursday's Race and the Law class and the class is on race and popular culture. So for the class exercise I'm doing a game show, and the prize for the winner will get the gift card.

We then headed over to the movie theatre and saw The Ring. Wow. When I was a kid I remember being scared by Pet Semetary. The whole thing with Gage coming back from the dead creeped me out, but then again I was pretty young. Since then nothing like that has ever scared me. Sure, I'm scared of spiders and bugs - but ever since my mid-teens on I've never been scared by any entertainment. The Ring managed to do what no other film has ever done. Scared the shit out of me. It was so creepy. It was an unbelievably great movie and has to be one of the best horror films out there. Though I have a feeling I'll end up with nightmares from it. If you're a horror movie fan, this is something you /need/ to see in the theatre. If you're easily scared by horror films then you might not want to see this one - or if you do make sure you're not sleeping alone that night.
