I Love Carpool Lanes

Yesterday was a very fun day. Lisa and I got together at my place around 10:30am 'cause she was going to head out to Montclair with me while I got my hair done. Unfortunately we didn't get to leave as soon as we wanted to because building maintanance here sucks ass. For over a year Rob and I have been complaining that the toilet in the guest bathroom keeps spewing up soap bubbles. And for over a year they keep telling us they fixed it. Well, yesterday it happened again, only this time it overflowed and there were soap bubbles all over the bathroom floor. *sigh* Why do I have a feeling this will happen again?

After the whole soap bubble incident Lisa and I headed out to Montclair. We made sure to get there early so that we could hit the mall. We looked around a little bit and did some shopping. After the shopping we grabbed lunch at the A&W in the food court and then we headed to Gebhart. Luckily we came on the day of their Xmas party, so there was food and drink all around. Unfortunately I decided not to partake due to the fact that my stomach hadn't been too hot most of the day. I thought the appointment wouldn't take too long since I was staying the same strawberry blonde color - but I was wrong. I was used to the simple process of going darker when I was a brunette. It took around 4 hours just to do a re-touch of the same color! When I was a brunette they just did the dye, washed it out, and then dried my hair. Yesterday they had to bleach my roots, wash that out, do a few protein treatments, dry the hair, then put the dye on, wash that dye out, and blow dry the hair once more. Talk about a long process! But, on the bright side, I absolutely love this color. So I guess in the long run it's worth it.

The drive home wasn't too bad, but I'm so glad I had Lisa along with me! There was a really bad car wreck (one car's tires were in the windshield of another car) on the 134 in Glendale. Luckily because I had Lisa by my side we were able to be in the carpool lane. The main part of the freeway wasn't moving at all, but the carpool lane kept on going. We went right by the accident without having to be caught in bad traffic. That has to be my best experience on any freeway in the LA area.

When we got back to my place Lisa had to take off pretty quickly. She grabbed her Xmas gift from me (a stuffed moose with some body wash and lotion) and headed back to her place. Rob and I decided to spend the night in and so we ordered in Chinese food and watched the season finale of Survivor. Neither of us were happy with the winner. And both of the two finalists were pompous assholes. *sigh* I want a million dollars.

This morning Berek came over for a little bit. I gave him the presents from Rob and I (they weren't Xmas presents, they were "Go Berek" presents). He seemed amused by them (a book of the Darwin Awards from Rob and Haikus for Jews from me). We hung out at my place for about two hours and talked about various things. Then he needed to head out because he and his family were heading up to the bay area this afternoon. Oh, and the cats were making his allergies go insane. We both think they were trying to kill him.

The rest of today was spent getting things ready around the house. I'm trying to get mass amounts of laundry done so that Rob and I can get a whole bunch of errands done tonight. We're heading out to my Mom's place tomorrow and we want to get everything in order around here for our cat sitter (Tina).

I'm so excited right now! I can't wait until we head out to my Mom's. I haven't been out there in a year and I miss it terribly. It should be a fun trip. I'm going to try to keep posting while I'm out there, but I don't know if I'll be able to or not. My Mom does have a computer and internet access, however her iMac is possessed and her internet service bites ass (Galena-Link). So, it's up to her possessed computer if I'm allowed to make postings or not. If it allows me to then I should keep on posting when I have the time. If not, I'm going to have one very long entry when I get back!
