2004-01-28 1:10 PM When Everything Goes Wrong Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Upset Read/Post Comments (2) Yesterday was not a good day at all. It was one thing after the other going wrong with the only cool thing being my first trip to Chin Chin's. Job hunting recently has not been good. Pretty much every job that I would be interested in applying for (and also most of those that I wouldn't be interested in) require *at least* two years of experience as an attorney. If every frickin' job out there wants someone with experience then how the hell does someone like me ever get a job? Oh hang on a second, it's been 8 months since I graduated law school, 6 months since I took the bar, and 2 months since I passed the bar and I'm still unemployed. I guess they don't! Grr. Then there was that stupid virus going around yesterday. I got the e-mail and thought I might have gotten the virus. Rob checked out the computer and said that because I opened the e-mail, but NOT the attachment that things were cool. Okay, much happier there (but not for long). When Rob got home from work we headed over to the AT&T store so I could get a new phone (as I've said in a previous entry, mine is heating up something fierce whenever used or charged). All of their phones sucked. They didn't have anything I remotely liked. So, since Berek is happy with T-Mobile and his phone is soooo cool I decided to head down the block to the T-Mobile store. My contract with AT&T is up and I considered switching. Yes, I really dig my service with AT&T, but their phones seriously bite ass. Well, T-Mobile did have some really cool phones, but their service is for shit. I wouldn't be able to change my number over to a Chicago one if I moved to Chicago because they ONLY have roaming service in downtown Chicago. The rest of Illinois is a dead zone and doesn't even have roaming service. AT&T can give me a Chicago cell number if I move and I have never had a problem getting service anywhere in the Midwest, even in the middle of nowhere. So, looks like I'm staying with AT&T. I just don't know what phone to get because I hate them all. I do need to get one soon because I would like a cell phone that doesn't try to burn me when I talk on it. I'll be checking out their phones again later this week. After the phone fiasco Rob and I decided to check out the Chin Chin's in Studio City. Carrie, you're right. That place rocks. While I still like the Shanghai and Mein potstickers best, Chin Chin's came very close. Dinner was very yummy and sadly, it was also the only relaxing good time of the day. When Rob and I got home we decided to check out some different AT&T phones on line. That's when we got a message from my Norton security system that our computer was under attack. Some pig fucker in Reading, England was trying to access the computer through "Backdoor/SubSeven Trojan Horse". We immediatly ran a virus scan and it said the computer was clean. I ran Earthlink's Spyware system after that and it removed some Cookies, but also said there was no Trojan on the computer. Unfortunately, we have a Trojan on here that can't be detected. This is a brand new computer and we really can't afford to get another one. *sigh* So, now we have to try and find a way to find this virus and get it the hell off of here. Any suggestions? Please? Help??? Oh, one last thing. For some reason I can't access comments on JS anymore. I don't know why and I don't know how long this will last. You can still feel free to leave comments, but I'll have to have Rob read them for me when he's at work. So, if you want to leave a comment if you have any suggestions about our virus problem, PLEASE do. Or you can e-mail me if you have my addy. I hope today is a better day than yesterday. I think I'll stay inside today and tonight just in case. *sigh* ----------
LOVER. You're a lover, not a fighter. You're romantic, and sexy... possibly even sometimes kinky. But sex fiend... Never. You're too romantic for that. Are you a sex fiend? brought to you by Quizilla Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
