2004-03-22 3:26 PM Geeky Sunday Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (0) Sunday Berek came over around 3:30. Pita was hanging out with a friend and so we were going to meet up with her later. We decided to make Sunday a day of geekiness and so the first place that Berek, Rob, and I headed to was a new game store that's near us on Ventura. We got some D&D miniatures there, but didn't stay too long because the place was HOT (I think it might have even had the heat on, which is insane because it was 80-something outside). I had to head out pretty quickly because I started feeling ill from the heat. After I left one of the employees there told Rob that it's always super hot in there because "the boss likes it hot enough to boil water". Ugh. Cool game store, but I don't know if I'll be going back there. I was very uncomfortable and started feeling like I was going to pass out because it was just way too hot in there. We then headed up Ventura and deeper into the Valley. We made a stop at the Border's in Sherman Oaks (also on Ventura). I was the only one who got anything there. I got some DVD's I had been trying to find for a long time. It's a three DVD set of the "Embrace the Darkness" series. I've never seen them, but Rob saw the first one and said it was pretty cool. It's pretty much soft core vampire porn. After Border's we headed even more into the Valley and made a stop at the Barnes and Nobles in Encino (also on Ventura). This time Rob was the only one who got anything - he used a gift card that he had to purchase a D&D book of various character sheets. It's pretty cool and a lot more detailed than the ones we have been using that we got on line. When we were finished there we headed to the Canoga Park area to pick Pita up from her friend's house. Then the four of us headed over to Collar and Leash, the pet store where Berek works. Rob and I picked up some cat food and a ball for Amber and a toy mouse for Sydney. After the pet store we were all fairly hungry so it was off to Subway for dinner. After dinner it was time for more geekiness. So, the four of us headed to the Game Zone in Pasadena. We got some more D&D miniatures there and then made a quick pit stop at the Von's across the street for a few things. After that Berek dropped Rob and I off at home and took Pita back to her place. Rob and I watched Adult Swim and then headed to bed. I haven't been sleeping well at all recently and desperately needed a good night's sleep. I got no sleep at all on Friday night and got only a few hours worth on Saturday night (my insomnia is back in full swing). I had a hard time getting to sleep last night, but finally managed to pass out. Unfortunately, most of today has been wasted because I didn't wake up until around 1pm. On one hand, I'm glad I got the sleep because obviously my body needed it. On the other hand I feel really guilty for sleeping in like that because I should have been doing things like job hunting this morning. Oh well, not much I can do about it now. So, today is pretty much becoming house hold chore day. I'm just getting some laundry and stuff done around here. Not too interesting, but it needs to be done. ----------
Aaron "Life" - The "Being" You play the part of the catalyst. You are confused, you have two completely polar opposite forces vying for your belief. Whether or not they are "good and evil", you do seriously question the values of your society and teh worth of your species. Though you may not survive, you will be the only one to know the truth: the meaning of life. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
