Friday night was a very good D&D game. The whole group was there and we wrapped up the plot line that had begun way back when the game originally started. Everyone in the group enjoys their characters and the setting, so we all agreed to continue with the same adventuring party and the same game. It was a very good game, the socializing was fun, and the Chinese food from Chin Chins wasn't bad either.

Saturday Rob and I slept in and then made our way over to the Media City Center in Burbank. We had lunch at the McDonald's in the food court and did some shopping. We had plans (and tickets) for the Ren Faire on Sunday, so I needed to pick up some cool clothing since the temps were going to be high on Sunday (little did we know just how high they would be - more on that later). We wandered around the mall and went into a good number of stores. I ended up getting a cheap (but cute) little purse at Mervyn's to take with me to the Ren Faire. I didn't want to bring one of my Coach ones there because it can get rather dirty when the wind kicks up and I didn't want to destroy a cool purse. I also picked up two cute shirts that seemed as if they would be good and lightweight.

After our shopping and looking around the mall was done we checked out the movie theatre to see if anything was playing soon. Unfortunately, the soonest time for anything we were interested in was an hour and a half down the road. So, we headed out of the mall and decided to stop off at The Olive Garden for dinner. There was a very long wait for a table (they said 45 minutes - it was more like an hour and 15 minutes). During our wait for a table we talked with Berek and he said that his Dad wasn't going to the Faire with them because the temps for San Bernardino were supposed to get into the 100's on Sunday. This was not a good thing. I am EXTREMELY sensitive to the heat (to the point where I get hospitalized from heat stroke) and my body cannot physically take being out in that kind of weather. Anything from about 90 upwards goes from being uncomfortable and sweaty to actually being dangerous to me. So, Rob and I checked out the weather reports on our cell phones (he has the internet, I have #121) and heard that it was indeed going to reach into the 100's on Sunday. Unfortunately, this meant that I couldn't go to the Ren Faire. I wasn't very happy about that. Not only were we going to go with Berek and Pita, but we also would have met up with Shannon and her Rob (and I would have finally gotten to meet her Rob). But, no matter how much I wanted to be there, my Rob was right - I cannot put my health on the line for something like that. *sigh* So, we called Berek and told him that we wouldn't be able to go. He understood (he knows my problem with extreme heat) and made plans to pick up our tickets Sunday morning so that his brother (Ben) and his brother's girlfriend (Val) could use them.

Eventually, we got called in for our table, and dinner was very good. After dinner we headed home and chilled out around the house before going to sleep.

Sunday morning Berek stopped by to pick the tickets up and then he and Pita headed to the Faire. Rob and I got a bit more sleep and then decided to head to Pasadena and stop at The Game Zone. They had some new Elder God plushies in. I got one of them - a baby Shoggoth. The other I wasn't interested in - Secret Agent Cthulhu. Yes, I do collect plushies and figurines of the Old Ones, but the Secret Agent Cthulhu just didn't appeal to me. I did like it's Shoggoth style briefcase though. The guy at the store informed us that sometime soon they were getting Cthulhu slippers in. Hrm, I think I might have to pick up a pair if they have them in my size. I also picked up a few more boxes of the D&D "Archfiends" minis. Rob got some of the minis and a book on Lycanthropes in the D&D world. He was also looking for a new D&D book slated to come out this month (I think it's called "The Complete Divine"), but the guy said that wouldn't be out until later in the week.

After the game store we headed to Taco Bell for dinner. Luckily, this time it didn't make either of us sick. I don't know why, but we both were craving it. After dinner we headed home, did some stuff, and ended up watching a good part of Adult Swim before heading to bed.

Today the job hunt continues and I do laundry.
