Yesterday I got up early and Shannon picked me up at 9am. We had a girlie day planned and it was a blast. We headed out to Valencia (I've been to Magic Mountain once, but never to Valencia) and ended up at a really cute mall with some outdoor and some indoor parts to it.

Our first stop was a hair salon called Alacrity and Shannon had her hair done. She got her roots done red (a fire engine RED). Her hair looks so cool now. It's bright red at the roots, then it goes to a reddish black, and then black on the ends. Very funky, very cool, and very Shannon.

After her hair appointment we dodged "creepy wine guy" and headed to the mall. We looked around in some of the outdoor shops and then headed inside to the main mall. We wandered around and looked in quite a few stores. I ended up picking up some lingerie at Lane Bryant. I got two negligee's (one is red with a tie dyed look to it and the other is dark blue with light blue polka dots on it), five pairs of my regular string bikini panties, and five pairs of really sexy thongs. Let's just say that Rob was happily surprised later that night.

We then were feeling hungry and so we headed to TGI Friday's for lunch. The food was good and the waiters were competent (including the trainee) which was a pleasant surprise. We had a slow lunch and then looked around the mall a little bit more. Shannon got a neat pair of kitten heeled flip flops and some beautiful dresses at Ann Taylor. We then headed out of the mall and drove over to her Mom's work.

Shannon needed to pick up a few things from her Mom, including her scores from the bar. She didn't pass the February bar, and we found out that it was only by 40-some points that she didn't pass. She didn't bomb it, and I have full faith that she'll kick it's ass come this July. It was nice seeing her Mom again (I had met her once before at graduation). After getting the things she needed and talking a bit about the bar results she and I took off and headed to a nail salon.

I don't remember the name of the salon, but it was the best nail salon I have ever been to. We both got manicures and pedicures and the treatments there were amazing. The rubs, the hot lotion, all of it was wonderful. I need to go back to that salon in the future. I ended up getting my toes done a bright summery yellow and my nails a very pale whitish pink (my nails chip easlily because I type a lot and so I need something that won't show chips). She got her toes done a bright orange and her nails a more muted orange that looked amazing with her skin tone.

After getting our nails done we headed over to her Rob's place of work. I got to meet her love-bunny for the first time. We talked a bit and she picked up a few things from him while we were there. He seems like a very cool guy and he and Shannon definitely seem to mesh very well. I'm so glad I finally got to meet him!

From there we made a pit stop for gas and then headed back to my neck of the woods. We stopped at the Sherman Oaks mall to look around in Sephora. I ended up getting some very light perfume by Philosophy called "Baby Grace" and Shannon got some shimmery lip gloss and some purple CK perfume. Before we headed out we also stopped in Macy's so that she could pick up a belt. She's been losing *a lot* of weight and even her smallest pants are getting a bit big on her. You would think buying a belt wouldn't be a hard thing to do. Normally, it wouldn't be if you didn't have to deal with Scarlet S worthy people. *sigh* She tried to check out with the belt and the moron working the cash register told her that her credit card strip wasn't working. Shannon told her that she might want to try the card the other way because it had worked just fine at Sephora, but the girl wouldn't listen to her. She also said she couldn't type in the numbers into the register because she didn't know how. People who cannot comprehend how to type numbers into something should not be allowed out in public. So, we headed to another register and sure enough, the other girl had been trying to swipe the card backwards. Shannon was finally able to get her belt and we then left the mall and headed back to my place.

Rob was already home from work and the three of us just chilled out around the apartment for a bit and then Shannon took off. Rob and I spent the rest of the evening having dinner and watching some stuff on TV. It was a nice and relaxing night.

Not much is going on today. I'm just doing the same old things. Job hunting, laundry, etc. Tonight Rob and I are staying in and we might try to hang up the tapestries that we got at the Ren Faire if thumb tacks are strong enough to hold them up there. We'll see.
