Describe your stance on:

Abortion:
[x] I'm pro choice. I believe that it's a woman's right to choose if she wants to bring a life into the world and put her body through the hardships that a pregnancy would bring.

Affirmative Action:
[x] For it. Quite unfortunately, racism and sexism are still prevalent in today's society. I think affirmative action needs to be there to try and aid with equaling the playing field for everyone.

Age of Consent:
[x] Consent for what? Sex? Personally, I wouldn't set an age. If someone feels that they're ready to get involved with another person sexually and are ready to deal with any consequences that may arise from it, then it's up to them if they're going to have sex or not.

Animal Testing:
[x] Against it. "Animals are not ours to experiment on." I'm against it in all aspects (yes, even medical). It's cruel and torturing and killing any creature should not be the way to find information when there are so many other options available.

Death Penalty:
[x] Against it. If we are going to live in a society that states that under the laws murder is wrong, then there should be no exceptions. I don't believe that killing someone is *ever* the right answer to anything.

Downloading Music/Movies:
[x] Never done it. Never plan to do it. But it doesn't bother me if others do.

Drug Decriminalization:
[x] Depends on the drug. Pot? Absolutely. That stuff is by far safer than cigarettes or alcohol. Other drugs? I'm not so sure. On one hand I can see the argument for decriminalizing them and having them be controlled. On the other hand, I can also see the argument for not allowing people to touch them. I do, however, feel that jail time is not an appropriate punishment for users of drugs.

Factory Farming:
[x] Agsinst it, but that's probably obvious because if you know me, you know I'm an animal rights activist.

Free Trade:
[x] I don't really care one way or the other. This isn't a major political issue for me.

Funding of Arts:
[x] For it. Art is one of the things that makes human beings civilized. We need it as a balance, especially in today's society.

Gay Marriage:
[x] Very, very much for it. There is no reason whatsoever that a gay couple should not be allowed to wed. They need to be treated equally under the laws.

Gun Control:
[x] For it. C'mon people, I live in LA. There's always some sort of shooting on the news. Now, I'm not saying that people should be banned from owning guns. Just that they should have to have a permit for them and get checked out before buying one. Unfortunately, a lot of places a just too lax with that requirement.

Immigration:
[x] I'm for it, *IF* it's done legally and through the proper channels. If someone comes here illegally then they need to be kicked out on their ass and not allowed back in.

Hardcore Pornography:
[x] As long as it's between two consenting human adults, I have no problems with it.

Human Cloning:
[x] Against it. Humans are not gods, we are merely a part if nature. We need to remember that and let nature take her course as she will.

Miltary Draft:
[x] Against it. No one should be put in a position where they might die for something they don't believe in.

Minimum Wage:
[x] It needs to be raised. To what, I really can't say (numbers are not my strong point). I do, however, know that most people cannot survive on a minumum wage salary.

Prostitution:
[x] It should be legalized and controlled (Nevada has the right idea). No streetwalkers, but brothels where the women are tested on a regular basis.

School Vouchers:
[x] This isn't an issue that really matters to me. It doesn't effect me and it's not one that I pay much attention to. I don't really care one way or the other.

Taxes:
[x] I understand the need for taxes to fund the activities of the government, but they're way too high. When people can lose 50% or more of their income in taxes, that's just way too much.

United Nations:
[x] Our country needs to pay more attention to them. It's a good institution, unfortunately our "cowboy president" does what he wants with or without their support.

Universal Health Care:
[x] Very much for it. I'm lucky enough to have health insurance under my husband. Without it I would be in big trouble considering the kinds of health issues I have. However, I have many friends without it. No one should have to worry about not being able to see a doctor when they need to because they can't afford the medical bills.

War on Terrorism:
[x] You can't go to war with an idology. Terrorism has been around in all its forms for a very long time and will be around in the future. While I do believe that those who would seek a repeat of 9/11 need to be stopped, and I'm all for having justice served to those who masterminded it, the war needs to be about going after specific terrorist cells - not just a general war on terrorism. We also need to keep focused. While going after the terrorist cells which are a threat to our nation is needed, going after Iraq was not.

Welfare:
[x] I'm for it - but for a limited time. It's needed to aid people in getting back on their feet once they have been fired or laid off, but there needs to be a time limit on it. People should not be allowed to live off of welfare.
