Mindy came over around 1:30pm today. We chilled out in the apartment (and finished getting ready) and left our place around 3pm. We got to Knott's around 4:30pm and headed to the Chicken Dinner Restaurant for food. We got into the line before it got to be too long. Dinner was yummy and the waitress was extremely helpful and understanding when Mindy mentioned that she couldn't have ANY dairy in her food.

After dinner we met up with Kat in front of the park and headed in. Every year Kat, Mindy, and I (and now Rob's a part of this as well) do our trip to the Halloween Haunt. We may not see each other a lot during the year, but we always do this trip. It's something we all promised each other way back in college and is an excellent way to make sure we always stay in touch.

The first maze we went in was the TV one. We were the first people in there, so the monsters kept popping out and trying to scare us. It was really neat. I dig that maze. From there we went in the spider made, which was slightly different than it was when we went two weeks ago. There was no little show before the maze. Odd, but better. The spider maze creeped the hell out of me several times. I got scared/startled a number of times which set the stage for me getting heart palpitations for the rest of the night. Very uncomfortable. I had to take a decent number of rest breaks because of them. We then hit the log ride which is also the werewolf maze. I dig the werewolf stuff, but am not a big fan of the log ride in general because I really don't like water rides. After that we stopped for a bit and Rob and I got shakes while Kat and Mindy munched on some candy. Our next maze was the "Malice" one which is an evil Alice in Wonderland thing. Very cool. From there it was on to the Hatchet High maze and then the Vampire maze (which is still probably my all time favorite - though it was so much better back when it was Dominion of the Dead). We were about to head to the mine ride/Underworld maze when it began to rain. We found some shelter and then it began to pour. We waited it out a bit until the rain lessened up. By then, Kat needed to head home. Rob, Mindy, and I were going to do the mine ride, but when we headed over in the area it started raining again and the park started smelling like raw eggs. It would seem that there was a major sewage problem. Not wanting to play in sewage, we headed out of the park.

On our way out we stopped at a place just outside the park for some funnel cake. Kat called to let us know she had safely gotten to her car and we chilled out until the rain stopped. We then went to Mindy's car and headed off. The rain got BAD on the way home. Downpour bad. We did manage to get home safe and sound though. We would have done more at the park, but the rain and the sewage kind of ruined things.

The first thing I did when we got home was jump in the shower. I was grimy. Then Rob and I watched some TV (a countdown on VH1 of the worst sex songs ever) and are now just doing computer stuff.

If there's one thing this night has taught me, it's to trust my instincts. I had wanted to take along my rain coat and rain boots to the park. However, the weather forcasts said that the rain would't hit until around 4am on Sunday. I should have stuck with my gut instincts. Instead, I got all sorts of wet. The rain started around 11pm. Bleh.
