2004-12-22 8:41 PM Skippy McGatorPants Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Wishing time didn't move so fast out here. I don't want to leave next week. Read/Post Comments (0) Today Rob and I slept in a bit (hey, that's what we're here for - relaxation) and got up around noonish to get ready. Later in the afternoon we headed out with my Mom and Nana. Mom dropped Rob and I off at the aquarium in Dubuque while she and my Nana went to Wal*Mart. We only had an hour to spend there, so we made the best of it. We looked at the fish, squid, snakes, turtles, rays, and, of course, SKIPPY MCGATORPANTS. Skippy McGatorPants is an alligator. A really freaking big one. That's not really his name, this place doesn't seem to name their residents, so I named him that. Thus, in my little mind (and now Rob's and my Mom's) he is Skippy McGatorPants. In the gift shop Rob got me a stuffed alligator (now also named Skippy McGatorPants after the one I like there) and a stuffed turtle. I got my Mom a red eyed tree frog plush magnet. She hasn't seen it yet - Rob stuck it on her fridge. Even though we didn't have much time there, it was still fun. I love fish and turtles and could spend hours on end just watching them. And Skippy McGatorPants just plain rocks. Alligators are so cool. After an hour there my Mom picked Rob and I up from the aquarium. This morning when I was sleeping my coat from Land's End came in the mail. It was so nice to be wearing it when we were outside the aquarium waiting for her. It's a black down coat. So nice and warm and soft. I'll be taking this back to L.A. with me. Once we got picked up we headed to dinner at Timmerman's. It's a "supper club". Not really sure what that means, but that's what the sign says it is. Dinner was very good and when we were finished we went back into Dubuque and drove through a park which had a light display set up. It was really pretty. When we were done with that we headed home. So, I have news on the job front. Berek's brother Ben needs an attorney to give him a hand with a few things and I've agreed to help him however I can. He's an actor. I'm very happy with this. I dig Ben and am more than willing to do whatever I can to help him out. Plus, this is something I'll be able to put on my resume. When I get back home I'm going to need to talk to my tax attorney about this. I know I'll have to report any money I make doing this, but I need to know if the business license I have will cover solo practicioner work as well. Just want to make sure everything is in order and that I'm doing everything I need to in order to comply with any laws. I'm kind of anal that way. Now we're back at my Mom's house and watching TV. Since I have little to no interest in television I'm working on the computer. E-mail, journal, and maybe some Neopets. I love it out here so much. We're leaving on Tuesday and that's now less than a week away. That's getting me depressed. I love it out here and do not want to head back to L.A.! So, when I get back home I'm also going to contact my tax attorney about seeing if he can spread my resume around Milwaukee. Rob's now willing to move there, especially since he's fed up with work. The move would be nuts, but in the end it might just be worth it. ----------
