Yesterday I posted a private entry about things that were going on with my dad and my family. The reason it was private was due to the fact that certain information had not been released to the public. Now that it has, I'm going to update that entry on my public journal.

For those who don't have access to my private journal, here's a brief run down of what was posted. Recently in Chicago the husband and mother of a judge were murdered. The killer shot himself yesterday in a Wisconsin suburb and evidence was found in his vehicle that links him to those two murders (plus he confessed to them). What was also found by authorities was a hit list of others he planned on killing. My father is on that list. My dad was opposing counsel on a case that the judge threw out. It was a medical malpractice case and the killer represented himself. My dad represented the hospital and the doctors and got the judge (the same judge whose family was murdered) to throw the case out. Yesterday my dad got a call from the FBI wanting him to look over some things of the killers. One of them was the hit list that he was on. Scary, huh?

Now that you're all in the know, here's the update. I spoke with my father on the phone today and the police think the killer was acting alone. Whew. Makes me feel a lot better. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad that guy killed himself. Better him than my dad. My dad's been up since 3am this morning doing interviews for NBC. Apparently he was on the Today Show, a whole bunch of other news programs, and will be on the NBC Nightly News tonight. He so lucked out that he's hard to find. For the first time in my life I'm glad that it's difficult to track down my dad - because there's a good chance that's why he's still alive.

You have no idea how frightening it is to know that a close family member is on someone's hit list. Especially when that person has already murdered two people. Like I said, I'm glad all this seems to be over and the nut bag killed himself. I don't believe in Heaven and Hell, but I do believe in Karma. I just hope this guy comes back as something disgusting and tormented in his next life. He deserves it.

For those of you who are interested, I'm linking two articles from MSNBC's website that my dad is in. It's mostly him being interviewed about the killer and the like. Neither article is mentioning anything about anyone else (including my father) being on the hit list. I don't know if the TV shows are mentioning it or not because I haven't yet seen any of them.
