Last weekend was a blast. Friday night Rob and I stayed up late. So late that it actually got to be early again. We didn't go to bed until 6am. We pretty much spent the night (after he woke up from his nap and I was done on the computer) playing the D&D minis game. It was fun.

Saturday we slept in due to how late (early?) we stayed up the night before. Once we got out of bed, we headed out to the Sherman Oaks mall. I took a peek into the Coach store - I have to at least look whenever I'm there. I also made a run to Lane Bryant and picked up two t-shirts that I really liked. Some of my older Torrid ones are coming apart and since Torrid doesn't have many cool shirts anymore, I checked out Lane Bryant.

After the mall we headed out to the Inland Empire which is kind of becoming a Saturday (or at least some weekend day) tradition. We first went to LionHeart where we talked with Lenny and got some more minis. The we went to Golden China. The owner talked to us for a bit and we now have a "usual table". How cool is that? We then made a pit stop at the drug store and headed home where we turned in early since we had to get up early on Sunday.

Of course, since we had to get up at 7:30am on Sunday morning I had a major bout of insomnia. Insomnia, mixed with our insane cats, had me getting absolutely no sleep the entire night. Oddly enough, I was fine and awake all Sunday.

Carrie came over around 9am and the three of us (Rob, Carrie, and myself) headed out of the house around 9:30am. It was time for a Solvang trip! (By the way Lisa... let me know if you and Nick want to meet up with us the next time we make a run up there.) Berek and Pita couldn't make the trip with us this time, but I'm so glad Carrie could come along because it had been far too long since we had hung out together in a non-D&D setting. We got to Solvang around 11:30am and headed straight for lunch since all three of us were hungry. We ate lunch at the Heidelburg Inn (I probably spelled that wrong), which is the place with the yummy sausage platter. While we were there Carrie gave a call over to one of her friends (Tim) who lived in the area and he met up with us just as we were finishing lunch.

Tim is a very cool guy and spent the day hanging out with us. It was great to meet him. We spent the day walking around and checking out the various stores. When we stopped in the Mystic Merchant we found out that the cartouche that Rob had ordered for me the last time we were up there had just come in. So, we were able to pick that up. It looks incredible. It has a scarab on it, then says "Jen" in heiroglyphics, and then has an ankh. Too cool.

At 4pm we went to the De-Stress Cafe for massages. Tim headed out for the hour we were there and met up with us when we were done. All three of us got massages. Rob and Carrie got chair ones and I did my usual combo of a chair massage and a reflexology foot rub. Mmmmm, I love that place! After massages the four of us headed to dinner at the Mandarin Touch and ate yummy Chinese food. Rob and I decided to just split a bunch of appitizers this time around.

After dinner it was around 6:30 and we decided we should be getting back home. We said our goodbyes to Tim and made the trek back to LA (complete with a decent traffic jam in the Santa Barbara area). Once again "The Void" overtook us. For some reason, no matter who we're with, the car of people back on the trip from Solvang always gets really silly and nuts. But you know something, that just made it more of a blast. The three of us had fun on the car ride home just being silly and weird.

We got back to our place around 9pm and Carrie took off. Rob and I watched the news and a little bit of Adult Swim and then headed to bed. Even though I couldn't sleep the night before, I had problems getting to sleep again that night. So, while Rob slept I watched a showing of Dracula 2: Ascension on TV and finally fell asleep when it was over.

A private posting will follow this one.

Other things you do are downright strange
You've got a little of your freak going on
But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself
