Hooray! I never have to see another Star Wars movie! Yippee!

Last night Rob and I headed out to Burbank, had dinner at the Golden Chicken (Greek food), and then saw a 7:20 showing of Star Wars: Episode 3 at the big AMC theatre in Burbank. While I'll admit that this movie was WAY better than the first two, it still wasn't my thing. I wasn't bleeding from my eyes and planning an escape route like I was in the first two (the first two were intolerable), but I still didn't really like this movie. I thought it was violently mediocre. I'm just happy that Rob was cool with waiting a few weeks to see it and that I didn't get dragged to one of the midnight shows on opening night. But now that I've seen it, at least it's over and done with. I've paid my dues and seen all six of the Star Wars movies and now I never have to worry about sitting through another one again. This makes me a very happy girl.

I did find one thing amusing about last night though. When Rob and I entered the theatre there was a group of nerds in the back. One of them made the comment of "Wow! A girl!" when we walked in. I don't know if they just had never seen a girl up close before or if they were surprised that a girl was seeing this movie, but the comment was pretty funny. And during the part of the movie when Darth Vader gets all decked out in his shiny black suit I'm pretty sure I heard some hard core nerd boners pop up in those back rows.

After the movie we headed home, watched the news, and went to bed. This morning I was sleeping in a bit since I'm still sick (my bronchitis is getting to the point where I'm coughing slugs up and I still have no voice) and something weird happened. I woke up thinking "brightbrightbright" and when I opened my eyes the bedroom light was on. It had turned itself on. It looks like there was a brief power outage around 8:30 because the clocks were blinking and when the power came back on the bedroom light turned itself on. How weird is that?

Today I spent the day doing the usual stuff (job hunting, laundry, etc.) and also have been trying to get ahold of my Dad. That man is impossible to get ahold of. I've been trying to call him since yesterday and need him to get in contact with me. Rob finally got the okay for some vacation time this summer and he's the one who will be working on getting the plane tickets for us. And we need to get those ASAP because we can't make plans with out cat sitter until we know for sure that we'll be leaving. Aargh! In order to leave we need to know we have the cat sitter and the tickets lined up. If either of those don't pan out Rob will have to go back to his boss and try to get a different week off. This is so annoying. It was so much easier when my Mom got us the tickets, but my Dad has a lot of miles he's not using and can get us them for free. Hopefully, I'll hear from him soon.
