After my posting on Saturday, Rob and I decided to do a mall and dinner thing. We headed up to the Northridge mall to check out some clothes I needed, but didn't have much luck. We then had dinner at T.G.I. Friday's.

Sunday was a last minute impromptu trip up to Solvang. Such a mistake, especially since it was a rather hot holiday weekend. It was super hot out and crowded worse than I have ever seen it. It even took us a half an hour to find somewhere to park! Eventually, we did park and the first thing we did was grab some lunch at the Heidelburg Inn. We then made appointments for massages and wandered around the town. We bought a good amount of stuff, but one of the things I really wanted to pick up was out of stock. The super nice woman at The Mystic Merchant said she would try and special order it for me. She rocks! I ended up getting some stone carved animal totems and a moldavite pendant there. I also picked up some Zodiac fairy magnets for Pita (Scorpio and Libra) and some Zodiac fairy stickers for myself (Scorpio and Aries) at another shop. The massages at the De Stress Cafe were amazing and after those we headed to dinner at The Mandarin Touch. After dinner we headed back home. While the massage was nice and it's always nice to be up there, we won't be going on a holiday weekend (especially when it's that hot) again anytime soon. I spent a good part of the day sitting in the shade because I got so overheated I almost passed out. Ugh.

Monday we slept in (we were both exhausted from Solvang) and went to see a 5:40 showing of March of the Penguins at a theatre in Encino. It was a really good movie. For those of you who haven't heard about it, it's a documentary on the mating habits of penguins. The only thing better than a documentary on penguins would be one on fish. Anyway, the movie rocked and I'm really glad I saw it. After the movie we headed to Barone's for dinner and then came back home.

All in all it was a very good weekend. A lot calmer than our last four day weekend, but still just as good. And now, back to the daily grind.
