pregnancy

Yesterday started off good, and ended up horribly.

The good part was the fact that I had flowers delivered to me. An amazing arrangement of yellow and pink roses (a dozen of each color) was delivered to me. I was shocked to see who they were from. The card read "Congratulations - Dad". My Dad actually sent us flowers as a congrats on being pregnant thing. Wow. This is a much better reaction that I would have thought. I'm so glad he's happy about this and the flowers are AMAZING.

And now the bad. Rob and I went down to where our cars are parked in the garage when he got home from work because we decided to head to The Olive Garden for dinner. I offered to drive, but when I tried to start my car it wouldn't work. The car can be turned on halfway so that just the electronics work, but can't be started. When I try to start it the instrument panel lights flash on and off and the car makes a noise like a dying goat. FUCK. I was told to stay as stress free as possible during my pregnancy and this is NOT helping. My car is dead. And of course, the warranty is gone. So, this Saturday we're going to see if we can get it over to the Lexus dealer to be repaired. One of the big problems is that my car is in a subterranian garage (parked in the front spot right up against the wall in a tandem parking spot) and AAA will have to get down there so that my car can be taken to the dealer. This is not going to be easy. And it's also going to ruin our Saturday. I thought Lexus cars were supposed to be made better than this? FUCK.

We did manage to make it to the Olive Garden and back thanks to Rob having a car. I am SO glad he has a car. At least we have one functional car when something like this happens. This whole incident with my car has made me realize that I will be selling it if we move. Might as well get rid of it out here and buy something new out in Milwaukee. That is, if we move. If we don't move I'll probably look into buying a new car sometime in the next year. Apparently (much like all my other cars) this one decided to break down on me right after the warranty expired. I don't need this right now. I really don't.

So... as it stand now we have a Saturday appointment with Lexus. AAA can't make an appointment more than 24 hours in advance, so we'll have to call them tomorrow and see if we can schedule them to come by on Saturday. I just hope I get my car back sometime on Saturday. Gah. I have the worst luck when it comes to cars, or anything electronic or technological for that matter.
