pregnancy

Last night Rob and I went to Benihana. Mmmmmmm. That is such amazing pregnancy food and all the ginger makes it almost assured that I won't get nauseous after eating. We've been wanting to go for the past few weeks so I saved up some money for it. So worth it. And what's super cool is that we still have the pig jar money for something like fondue in the near future. Woot.

After dinner we filled Rob's car up with gas so we'd have a mostly full tank for our trip to Solvang. Wow. Gas prices are getting out of control. Very close to being unaffordable. And why isn't the government doing anything about it even though oil companies are making billions in profits? Because our trained monkey of a president is an oil man. What's really scary is at the moment, I think for the first time ever, California isn't the highest price wise. We saw on the news the other night that the gulf area that was hit by the hurricane is now price gouging at over $6 a gallon. I also saw on CNN that a lot of middle eastern countries pay between twelve cents and sixty cents a gallon for gas. What the hell? You would think after the whole Iraq thing that we'd be paying a lot less than we our now. But until we get a Democrat in the White House things like gas prices are going to be out of control. I have a bad feeling about this whole gas price thing. It's going to cripple the economy and we'll have an even higher unemployment rate. Things are not looking good for the average American. And why would our monkey-president even care? He's getting even richer and fatter off of the spike in oil prices. I seriously cringe whenever we need gas now. At least we have Rob's car which takes regular grade. Mine takes mid-grade and costs a fortune to fill up. I'm so glad I didn't go back to Pepperdine for my LLM this year. Back when I was in law school I'd have to fill up 2-3 times a week. There's no way I could pay for that. None at all.

I've been seriously considering getting one of the hybrids (probably the Lexus 400h) the next time I'm in the market for a car. It would make it so much more affordable to drive. But I've been hearing really bad things about the hybrids from people I know. Like the fact that if one little thing goes wrong with them they're in the shop for weeks at a time. And the fact that they don't work in cold weather. Might have to re-think my whole wanting a hybrid thing.
