Yesterday afternoon we headed up to Solvang. I love that place. The drive there was uneventful and traffic wasn't bad at all. Then again we did leave around 1:30pm when people were still at work. We got up there around 4pm and immediately checked into our hotel. We stayed at The Royal Scandinavian because we liked it when we stayed there for Rob's birthday back in 2004. The only odd thing we noticed was that they changed the bed. It used to be a cool bed and now it's a low to the ground (so hard to get into and out of to pee all night long while preggers) fold away bed. So bizarre. We took our stuff into the room and then headed out.

We made a stop at Vinhaus for some of their excellent cheese. We picked up some cheddar cheese spread, some super good 6 year old Gouda, and some swiss. Rob made a quick run back to the room to put it in the mini-fridge since it was fairly hot outside. We then looked in a few stores that were open. Rob got me a beautiful turtle pendant at Pebble People. So cool. We decided on Chinese for dinner so we headed to The Mandarin Touch. Dinner was yummy and when we were done we headed back to the hotel.

We hung out around the hotel Friday night. We watched TV, talked, did other things, and later on ate our snack spread. By the time we were done we were so full of cheese. We had way too much food so we made a plate up for the guy behind the desk since he was very helpful earlier in the day. We had the cheeses we picked up at Vinhaus, crackers, salami, grapes, and sparkling apple cider. Mmmmm. All in all yummy, but too much cheese. After our spread we watched some TV and a lot of the shows were trippy.

Going to bed was interesting. The air conditioner is on a motion sensor so if you're not moving around it shuts off. So I kept waking up super hot and having to move around to get the air working again. In the middle of the night I heard a dripping noise and saw that the AC (and one of the lights) was dripping water. Rob and I put the ice bucket under one of the drips to catch it and a glass under the other. Saturday morning when we checked out we told them about the drip, but I really don't think they gave a crap.

We checked out of the hotel around noon on Saturday and had some issues finding a parking spot in town. We're glad we went up on Friday and decided to come home on Saturday because at noon the place was already a zoo. We finally found a spot on a side street and went to brunch. We hit the Belgian Waffle place for breakfast foodage. That place is so yummy - thank you Lisa for telling me about it! Unfortunately a bee tried to attack me during our meal. This was not a good thing what with my being allergic to bees. I had a feeling that having an allergic reaction to a sting while pregnant would be very bad. I jumped out of my seat to get away from it and Rob (who I believe is now a level 5 Bug Slayer) killed it for me. And he killed it withoug getting stung! Hrm, perhaps this is a special power of the Bug Slayer class?

Meep? *sigh* I see Rob has been at the computer again while I was in the bathroom. Meep indeed sweetie.

Anyway, back to my entry. Where was I? Ah yes, breakfast. Breakfast was yummy and when we were done we headed to The Mystic Merchant (probably my favorite store there) where I picked up a blue carved stone turtle totem. We checked with the De-Stress Cafe to see if they had any openings, but were booked up solid for the rest of the day. No massages for us this time.

We headed out of Solvang at around 1pm. Traffic was fine on our side but it looked nightmarish the other way. Once again glad we came up yesterday and headed home today. On the way home we made a stop at the Camarillo outlets. Mostly because I was in severe need of a bathroom. Whoever said the need to pee all the time lets up in your second trimester LIED. After using the bathroom Rob and I headed to the Coach store. This is where you can tell how my priorities are changing. We went in Coach, but I didn't get anything. We also saw a Carter's store (for those that don't know, it's baby clothes) and there both of us bought some things for Kaylea. Who would have thought - me not getting anything at Coach and then buying a whole bunch of baby stuff. Wow. Though I will admit that shopping for Kaylea is even more fun that shopping for myself. And baby clothes are just way too cute for my own good.

After the outlets we headed home. We played with the cats for a bit and unpacked and got the silent treatment from Amber. We then took a nap from 4:30 to 7:30. We were both really tired. Once we managed to drag our asses out of bed we headed to T.G.I. Friday's for dinner. I was craving a burger and didn't want fast food. Dinner was good (though getting our food took forever because the waiter forgot to put our order in - whatever, we were in no rush). We were seated near the bar area and got to see two doofuses (doofi?) in the bar watching the UCLA game. One of them was decked out in UCLA clothing. They were getting drunk on beer and munching nachos and buffalo wings and yelling things at the TV. I don't think they realized that the football players couldn't hear them through the TV. Rob and I wondered how they would ever get a girl, and then were shocked to see that the girl they were hitting on came back to their area of the bar after halftime. Wow. I have no idea how two guys who are probably ten years out of college but still think they're frat boys can get a woman. Then again, she was a "tag".

We headed home after dinner and now we're doing a few things on the computer. We'll probably watch some TV or play some Hecatomb later on. Tired now.
