2005-10-13 3:06 PM Camera Shy Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Frustrated - I just want to know the gender for sure. Read/Post Comments (2) Yesterday Rob took off of work about 15 minutes early and headed home. He grabbed me a coffee on the way home (caffeine and sugar is recommended to wake the baby up) and I hopped into his car in the front turnaround of the building. Traffic was bad for part of the way, but we did get to Prenatal Peek on time. Much thanks goes out to Kat who recommended this place to me! We had a 6pm appointment and the 5:30 appointment was running late so we were taken in around 6:15 or so. Not a big deal. I filled out the paperwork and just talked to Rob while we were waiting for our appointment. While waiting the caffeine fully kicked in. Not having caffeine for about 5 months can really make you high and a spaz when you do have it. And right before we were called in Gabriel woke up and started kicking the hell out of me. Gabriel was definitely awake so we thought we'd be able to find out the gender for sure this time. Wrong. We apparently have a camera shy baby. He was awake and moving around a whole lot, but he made sure to keep his legs crossed the entire time! It really seemed as if he were doing it on purpose. I know that sounds weird, but every time the tech said she could probably see it from a different angle he would switch positions and block her. He even covered his face up when she said she was going to take a face shot. The baby seems to take after me when it comes to having pictures taken. Sheesh. So, here's the deal. One of the techs thinks it's a boy. The other thinks that since the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby, that it might not be a weenie we're looking at. They can't tell for sure unless the baby opens his legs. And he wasn't about to do that yesterday. I got a DVD of the session, a CD of the pics they took, and one color picture. The rest of my package I'll be getting the night of October 27 when I get my free re-check since the baby wouldn't cooperate. Let's hope he actually opens his legs then! In my personal opinion, I'm thinking it's a boy. Yes, my gut still says girl, but my gut also told me I wasn't pregnant when I took my positive pregnancy test. Rob and I are pretty sure we saw a weiner during one of the parts of the scan. So, unless we're told otherwise, we're assuming it's a boy for now. After the 4D ultrasound Rob and I headed to Buca Di Beppo for dinner (mmmmm, pizza oil). We then checked to see if a local costume shop was open (Rob still needs to get his Halloween costime), but it wasn't so we headed home. We did a brief bit of gaming and then headed to bed. ----------
