Friday night we had D&D. Well, kind of. It wasn't a game per se, but more of a character bookkeeping to make sure everyone was where they should be. I spent the first part of the game in the bedroom nursing a migraine and throwing up. Around 9:30 I came out when my headache went to "bad headache" level and I could tolerate the light. My character had already been updated so I just chilled out on the couch and talked to people while Rob took people into the office/cat's room to work out their characters.

On Saturday Rob and I headed down to Knott's for the Halloween Haunt. We were going to have dinner at the Chicken Dinner place, but there was a 3+ hour wait. So, we grabbed burgers instead. We arrived there first and then came Mindy and then Kat. We chilled out at a table until it was time to head into the park.

Once inside the park Rob and Mindy went into the "Curse of the Spider" maze. There was no way I was going into that one. I did it last year and it freaked me out so bad I got palpitations. Not something I'm doing while pregnant. Kat totally understood (her goal for the night was to not go into any mazes with chainsaws) so she chilled out with me while the two of them went in. From what they both said, it's a good thing I didn't go in there. We then all decided to check out the "Temple of Sacrifice" but not go on the Jaguar rollercoaster. That blew. There were two or three monsters but the scariest thing of all was doing a whole lot of inclining ramps and stairs to get out while pregnant. We then finally found the maze that Rob and I got lost trying to find last time, "Terror Vision in 3D". That one was very cool. From there we went into the "Feary Tales in 3D" maze (which was all right, but better than last time) and "The Asylum Revisited" because they were attached together. That one was okay.

I started getting tired at this point so we took a little break and then made our way across the park for munchies. We almost got stuck by The Hanging, but Kat was able to find a way to get where we needed to go. We got some snacks at a place called Coaster's, but I was disappointed to find out that they didn't have pizza and that their vanilla shake machine wasn't working. So, once people were done there we headed to a place where I could get some pizza. We chilled out and talked for a bit and then did some more mazes. We went into "13 Axe Murder Manor" which is by far the best one this year and then made our way over to "Lore of the Vampire" which was also pretty good.

After the Vampire maze it was only around 11:30pm, but it was time to call it a night. Kat was tired, I could barely walk, and Mindy needed to drive back down to Oceanside because her sister in law had just given birth with a difficult labor and finally a c-section. We headed out of the park, said goodbye, and then headed to our cars. All in all it was a fun night and as always I had a great time hanging out with Kat and Mindy. I hobbled back to the car and we headed home. Once we got home it took me forever to get up to the apartment. My back was seriously messed up and I could only take super small shuffle like steps. Ow. Going to the bathroom multiple times in the night was a nighmare. It took me 15 minutes to get to the toilet and then another 15 to get back to bed every time. My body was seriously messed up.

Sunday I slept in a whole lot. When I woke up I could actually walk (albiet with a bit of pain still). Rob and I got ready and headed out to Cinema Secrets over in Burbank to look for a Halloween costume for him. They didn't have exactly what we were looking for and their prices were pretty high so we decided to check out the Halloween club stores down south. We did buy a little ghost pacifier for Gabriel though.

We first went to the Halloween Club store in Buena Park. They had nothing of the sort we were looking for (just how hard is it to find a gypsy costume for a guy???) and so we picked up some more spooooooky pacifiers for Gabriel (a devil, a pumpkin, and vampire teeth) and headed out. Yes, I know Gabriel's first Halloween is a year away, but when your parents are ex-goth gamer freaks you're allowed to use those pacifiers any time of the year.

We then went to the Halloween Club store in Commerce. They also had nothing and a whole lot of it. Well, I should clarify, they did have retarded store clerks. When Rob asked if they had any gypsy costumes the idiot took him to a Pharoh costume (complete with scary man-skirt) and asked him if that was a gypsy. Wow. We left after that. We split a bacon wrapped hot dog (I want more, they're addictive) and headed to dinner. We still need to find a gypsy costume for Rob.

We drove out to Montclair for some Chinese food at Golden China. Dinner was yummy and from there we made our way back home with a few stops. One was at The Game Zone and the other was at the grocery store. When we got home we watched some Adult Swim and then went to bed.

As a side note to this entry, I'm not normally a sports fan, but I do have to say I'm rather happy to see the White Sox heading to the World Series. They kicked the Angels's asses (woot!) and are on their way to the World Series. I think I'll have to watch those games. I'll be very happy if they win. Go Sox!
