2006-04-10 12:02 PM Ren Faire Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired and in a little bit of pain. Read/Post Comments (0) Last weekend was rather fun (or at least the Saturday part of the weekend was). Saturday was Rob's 31 birthday and we decided to go to the opening day of the Ren Faire. For Rob's birthday I covered all expenses at the Faire and when I can get out I'm also getting him one of those Bluetooth things for his phone. We got to the Faire just a little bit after it opened and were pleasantly surprised to have someone give us a two for one coupon on admission. That started things off nicely. We spent most of the day wandering around the Faire and just having fun. We wandered the whole length of the Faire and back again making several rest stops along the way to feed Gabriel, change Gabriel, or just for me to rest when I got tired or was in pain. The food there was amazing as usual (I loved the sausage/bread/cheese thing as usual and they also had some amazing espresso gelato). I bought a few things there - a ring that's a gold scarab holding an amethyst (Gabriel's birth stone), a dragon necklace, and a coin necklace (that they make the way they printed coins back during the Renaissance) with the archangel Gabriel on one side and the symbol for Aquarius on the other. Rob got me a super cool turtle necklace. The scarab ring is amazing. It's the only ring I've ever tried on in my life that fit me perfectly, I have a large ring size so I always have to get a ring sized up when I buy one. Not so with this one, it fit perfectly and just feels as if it was made for me. The woman who made the scarab ring also had bands with Egyption hieroglyphs on them. I might get one of those the next time we're there. We had an amazing day at the Faire and headed out around 4:30pm. We went home and attempted to take a bit of a nap, but Gabriel (who was amazing at the Faire) was overstimulated and wanted nothing to do with sleep. And if he doesn't sleep, we don't sleep. Since it was Rob's birthday I told him to pick where we should order food from and I'd be fine with it no matter what. So, he chose to get take out from a local Hungarian place that he's always wanted to try. On the bright side, we tried it and he got to try something new that I was never interested in eating. On the down side, his meal was only okay and I didn't really like mine at all. Oh well, at least we tried it. Later that night I became very sick. I think I overexerted myself in a big way. I was super cold and it was a cold that was radiating from my insides. I started shivering and shaking and had a fever. I took some Motrin and went to sleep and was better (though still extremely sore) on Sunday. Sunday we slept in as much as we could and then made a run to Target for our weekly baby supplies and to the drug store for a prescription of mine. We spent the rest of the day around the house doing as much laundry as we could. Today I'm home again with Gabriel and Rob just stopped by for lunch. He's so amazing and brings me food when he can so I can eat if Gabriel is fussy. I'm still in pain on the inside, but I think I have an idea where it's coming from. Part of it is definitely my uterus and I'm thinking it's just healing or nerves are coming back after the c-section. The other part of it is not something I'm going to announce. I'm going to give it awhile and see what happens. I'd rather not see the doctor unless I absolutely have to. ----------
