Mother's Day Weekend

Friday night the three of us headed to the mall. Rob got some face stuff that he had wanted at Sephora and I took a look around Lane Bryant. We had dinner in the food court (Carl's sounded oddly appealing to both of us) and then headed back home for the night.

Saturday we decided to hit the Ren Faire one last time before it closed (we can't make it next weekend because Gabriel is getting more shots and those tend to make him a bit sick and run a fever for a day or two). Wow, that was a mistake. The Ren Faire is a lot less fun when it's sunny, 95 degrees out, and packed to the gills. Rob got me a cool turtle pendant which holds some scented oil in it and a few other items. We had some lunch and then decided it was too unbearable to stay and headed out. We stopped off at Game Zone on the way home (I miss Lionheart already) and picked up this month's D&D book, grabbed some Starbucks, and headed home to the nice A/C. For dinner we ordered in sushi. We got everything we ordered and then some. In Rob's order was something weird he did not order. They were shrimp covered in tempura batter. The whole shrimp. Weird tentacle things, big black beady eyes, and all. I took some pics of them on the camera so if you want to see what these creepy little buggers look like drop me an e-mail or leave a comment and I'll show you.

Sunday was my first Mother's Day. Rob took care of the baby in the living room and let me sleep. I slept in until around 10:30am. That's longer than I've been able to sleep in a long time. So nice. When I was up we had to hunt for some sheets under the bed. The sheets we were using died on Saturday night. Just as we were going to bed I noticed that my foot went through the bottom sheet. Looks like they had gotten so threadbare that they just split. We didn't feel like spending money on new sheets and knew we needed to use a lighter quilt rather than our down comforter now that it's hotter than hell out, so we just went digging under our bed to see what we had. I found a grey and white quilt with matching grey sheets. Those will do nicely. We washed up all the bedding and put the down comforter away. When we were done with laundry we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. There was a pretty long wait and Gabriel spent a good part of the time being fussy. He started freaking out during dinner so we fed him and it calmed him down a little, but he did cry a lot. *sigh* And up until last night we were doing so well with his behaviour on outings. Anyway, dinner was great and so was the cheesecake. On our way out Rob got me a teeny pink teddy bear. It's now on my nightstand. We got home around 10pm which is now considered late for us. We finished up what we needed to get done around the house (taking the garbage out, washing up the day's bottles, etc.) fed the baby and got him ready for bed, and then passed out. Unfortunately we didn't get into bed until a little after midnight. This means that both Rob and I are pretty much working through a haze today. Well, I'm more in a haze and he's more in a full body ache. Oh well, at least we had a good weekend.

Well done you have proved that Americans do take an interest in the world around them. Feel proud. That is of course if you are an American. If not you were expected to achieve this score. };o))
