Doctor's Appointment and Errands

I'm loving weekends. I get some help with Gabriel and get to spend time with my husband and child. There's not much better in the world than spending time with my hubby and my little one, no matter what it is that we're doing.

Saturday we had Gabriel's three month appointment with Dr. Nakashima. He's growing and gaining weight well (he's now 24 inches long and 11.8 pounds) and is a healthy baby. He had one of his vaccines and wasn't too happy about the shot. While I know it's necessary, I hate seeing him get his shots. He starts pouting, his lower lip quivers a bit, tears roll down his face, and then he starts screaming. I think in this case it really does hurt me more than it hurts him when he gets a shot. Poor little guy has no idea what's going on other than he's in pain. It sucks.

After the Dr.'s appointment we headed back to the apartment. We spent the rest of the day in, and that was good becasue once again Gabriel did not react well to his shot. He was rather fussy, crying and screaming a lot, and running a fever. I got to take a nap in the afternoon while Rob watched Gabriel and later on he ran across the street to pick up some sushi for dinner. The sushi place was a total zoo because Quentin Tarantino was there, but eventually Rob did get back with our dinner. We spent the night chilling out with Gabriel.

On Sunday Gabriel was doing a bit better so we got some errands done. We headed out to the Target in LaVerne. While there was ample parking, it was probably the worst laid out Target I have ever seen. It was near impossible to find everything and I had an idiot woman in front of me at check out who decided it would be fun to spend her time haggling about the price of candy bars. Finally we checked out and got the hell out of there.

After Target we headed to the Babies R Us in Ontario. I did the shopping while Rob went back into the parent's room to feed Gabriel. When I was done with the shopping and had packed up the car, Rob was just finishing up with Gabriel so the timing was very good. We headed out and made a quick stop at a local Coffee Bean for some coffee and then headed to Long John Silver's for dinner. I have been craving that "crack batter" for a long time now and the last time I had it was before I was diagnosed with GD (which was October I believe). I couldn't touch it because of the carb content when I had GD so now that I'm back to normal it was crack battered fish and chicken time. I don't know what the hell is in that breading (crack???), but it's amazing. That's the reason we headed out to that area for Target and Babies R Us. We toyed with the idea of Chinese, but Long John Silver's beckoned. After dinner we headed home, got Gabriel ready for bed, and passed out.

Not much of interest is going on today. It's raining and nasty outside, but I'm staying in. It's the usual - taking care of Gabriel and trying to get as much laundry done as possible. I had wanted to get my car out tonight and head to the ATM, but the weather is disgusting and pretty much everything is flooded so I'm thinking I might wait until tomorrow night to do that. Let's hope my car starts since I would be taking it one day more than recommended without running it.
