2006-07-28 2:49 PM Ear Doctor Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Infected Read/Post Comments (0) Yesterday afternoon I had the joy of dealing with a poopy diaper blow out. It even got all over my shirt as I carried Gabriel to the changing table. Ew. Last night we stayed in the house and cooked dinner. We watched Hex and had some other random crap on in the background while we played with Gabriel and gamed. I became rather glad that I had the doctors appointment lined up for Friday because the ear that had been bothering me went deaf late last night. Today Rob had the day off of work, but we still needed to get up early in the AM partially because of Gabriel and partially because I needed to be at the medical office building next to Good Sam by 11:30am. We got there with plenty of time to spare and I'm really glad I decided to make an appointment for this. He cleaned out my left ear in two seconds. My right one was bad. Not only did I have a ton and a half of impacted wax (which took over a half hour with drops, a scraping thing, and a suction hose to clean), but I also have a nasty ear infection. Water from my showers had been getting in behind the wax and just staying in there breeding bacteria which in turn became a nasty infection. The process of cleaning that ear out hurt, but that's due to the infection. Once he was done I could once again hear out of my right ear. He gave me a prescription for some ear drops with are an antibiotic and an anti-inflammitory and told me that I needed to come back in a week to ten days for a follow up. To make sure the ears were completely cleaned out and that the ear drops did their job. After the doctor appointment we headed into Rob's office for a quick visit to show Gabriel off to everyone. We then grabbed some bacon wrapped hot dogs from a street vendor (bet I'll be regretting that move later on) and headed to the drug store I usually go to for my prescriptions. I gave them the prescription and they needed 20 minutes to "fill it". The girl had the box in her hands, but it takes 20 minutes for her to slap a label on it and consider it ready for purchase. *sigh* The wheel's there, but the gerbil is dead. In the time we spent waiting for my prescription we fed Gabriel and finally I was able to get it and go. A brief stop was made at Vons and then we headed back home. ----------
