2007-08-12 11:53 PM Movie Woes Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Sad Read/Post Comments (6) Those of you that know me, know that I'm a movie buff. Back in the time before I had a baby I'd see a ton of movies. No kidding, I'd probably see maybe 3-7 a week. I was out almost every night seeing a movie. Go figure, my undergrad degree is in Cinema Television and I tried my hand at screenwriting for four years after college. One of the things I miss about my life before I was a Mommy are the movies. Since Gabriel has been born I've seen one movie. That was back in April for Rob's birthday. My Mom babysat Gabriel and we got to see Grindhouse. (That's one movie in the span of a year and a half.) While a lot of movies that are out now are probably crap, there are some I really wanted to see and it kills me to not see. Yes, I'd like to see Harry Potter and Halloween when it comes out at the end of the month, but it's not going to kill me to not see it. However, there is one movie that it's killing me not to see. Stardust. I love Neil Gaiman and have been in awe of his works ever since Flor introduced me to his Sandman graphic novels. I read Stardust for the first time in the late 90's and it quickly became one of my top ten favorite books. The movie looks good and it doesn't look like they turned it into crap. I would absolutely kill to see this film on the big screen, but that's just not going to happen. We have no way of getting a babysitter and don't know of anyone willing to do so for us. Normally, that doesn't bother me seeing as how I want to spend every minute possible with my little Poopchuck. But in this case I'd just like to be able to take a few hours and see this film. So yeah, this is my "I want to see Stardust dammit" rant. On to things from today. We headed out on a Babies R Us run for some things (baby shampoo, baby wash, diapers, diaper wipes, etc.) and then went into Milwaukee to pick up some Buca di Beppo to go. The closest one to us is in the city, but it's not a bad drive at all. And considering it's been 8 months since we've had it, Rob's suggestion of "let's bring home Buca for dinner" sounded amazing. Tonight we also watched Big Brother and gamed. ----------
Who is your soul guardian?
A demon watches over you. You may find yourself at times wishing those you dislike dead. Sometimes, you may find yourself being jealous. Anger can often get the best of you. You are a unique individual. Overall though, you are a kind person with a big heart. Your demon is always watching over you. Though a demon may seem like evil is watching you, it is not true. Your demon is on neither side; good nor evil. Your demon is on your side. Your demon is constantly protecting and guiding you down the right path for you in life. Take this quiz!
