Busy Weekend

This weekend was fairly busy and I didn't have the time to post an entry, so I'll be wrapping everything up in this one.

My Mom came over Friday afternoon after looking at a condo that she was interested in. Gabriel was super happy to see her and he's usually so good when she's around. It's unbelievable. Because the bugs haven't come out in full force and invaded our balcony just yet, we let Gabriel play out on the balcony a bit. My Mom and I were out there with him. He loved it.

When Rob got home from work we all decided on taking out dinner from Mitchell's. So, we all headed over there and I waited in the car with Gabriel while Mom and Rob ran in to pick the food up. We brought it home and spent the rest of the night watching Elmo movies that Gabriel wanted to see (he's currently obsessed with both Elmo in Grouchland and CinderElmo).

On Saturday I had to get up and ready early. Rob stayed at home with Gabriel while I headed over with my Mom to see the condo that she liked. Rob had already seen it, so it was my turn. We first met up with the realtors in the condo's clubhouse area. The guy looked exactly like the older vampire from the Lost Boys (I think his name is Edward Hermann) and the girl was actually really nice. They had us check out the model while they were doing a few things. I liked the model a lot. It had a nice layout. The only negative is that the condo was fairly small, but then again it's for my Mom. It would work well for someone living on their own, but it would be far too small for Rob, the baby, and I. The only major downside was that there was only a shower and no tub in the master bathroom. My Mom only takes baths, so this is an issue for her.

We then met up with the woman and she took us to see the one my Mom was looking at. It was gorgeous on the inside and I really liked the hardwood floors, but there were a lot of negatives about it as well. Much like the model, there was only a shower in the master bath. Also, it wasn't in the main area and was tucked away on a small cul-de-sac. It was a back unit so it wasn't visible from the street and the front door was actually around back and had a view of a ditch. My Mom seemed to like it at first, but I saw too many problems with it. Before we left, she gave a deposit so that they would hold it for a week.

On the way back to my apartment, we grabbed lunch for everyone and met back up with Rob and Gabriel at our place. They had gone to the post office to mail our taxes off ($4000 in taxes... ouch) and played in a local park for a little bit while my Mom and I were out. After lunch, Rob headed out to his hair cut appointment and my Mom and I stayed at home with Gabriel.

When Rob got back home, my Mom took off and headed home. Rob and I then headed out to do our weekly major grocery shopping.

Sunday, we headed out to the outlet mall in Johnson Creek. The weather is warming up, and Gabriel has hardly any warm weather clothes in a 2T. So, we went to the Carter's outlet and got Gabriel a nice summer wardrobe. All I need is a few more pairs of denim shorts for him. I'm hoping to find those at Baby Gap down the road.

Speaking of the weather, it was in the high 60's all last weekend. A bit warm for my tastes, but today it's in the low 50's and I am absolutely loving it.

On the way home from Carter's we stopped off at a Coldstone Creamery and got some ice cream. Gabriel refused to eat any of his until we fed some to his stuffed piggy and showed him how much the piggy liked it.

We then came home, I showed Rob the clothes I had picked out, and then we made a run out to The Olive Garden to grab some dinner.

Last night we watched Big Brother, Family Guy (the Star Wars episode), and Dexter. We also started work on a new D&D character. We decided to end the game with my ranger and start up one for a rogue. I'll probably work more on that character tonight.

Today is the usual - hanging out with Gabriel. He's being his usual spazzy self.
