2008-04-12 6:52 PM Possible New Car Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (6) I absolutely love having my Mom around. My mood has been better than it has in a long time. I think I'm always more upbeat when she's around. Gabriel got up around 7:30am this morning (gah). I wish he'd learn to sleep in on the weekend. Of course, I've been warned that once he's a teenager it will probably be impossible to wake him up before noon on the weekends. Either feast or famine there, right? Anyway, my Mom let me nap for a little bit after running out for some coffee. After we all got ready, we headed out in my car. We looked around at some more areas with prospective houses for sale and then made a run by my Nana's place. My Nana keeps it super hot in her room (it was 83 yesterday in her room) and that makes Gabriel fussy (he's a penguin like I am). So, my Mom ran in for a few minutes to give my Nana some Thin Mint cookies I picked up for her and to say hi. We then headed over to the car dealer. At the dealer, they looked over my car and decided it would be worth 12k as a trade in. I was shocked, but my Mom said that was dead on. My car was 45k when I bought it! Apparently keeping a car for 7-8 years makes the value go way down. However, it has very low milage on it. Ugh. My Mom said for the best trade in deals you really need to trade in a car every three years or so. Not like that's possible financially for me. Anyway, I told him what I wanted and they priced it out with the trade in. The car that I want (the hybrid version of my current car with a brandywine mica exterior and a black interior) is only having 3 produced in May and they might already be spoken for. So it might be a few months before I can get one. Oh, and I'm opting to NOT get the DVD player. The last thing I want is Gabriel wanting to watch his movies in the car. No way. The next step is to try and get ahold of my Dad and tell him the price. We'll see if he says yes or no and go from there. Fingers crossed that I get a new car. Whatever electrical problem my car has, it's not fixable and I really want a reliable car. After the car dealer, we grabbed dinner and headed back home. Now we're chilling out around the apartment and watching Elmo In Grouchland over and over because it's what Gabriel is now obsessed with. DVD player in my car? No freakin' way. ----------
