Egg Disaster

Yesterday was one of those days. Everything sucked until the very end of the day.

While I was working on the laundry, Gabriel got into the fridge and took out the carton of eggs. He then proceeded to smash the eggs into the floor (only 3 survived) and play in the eggs. Do you have any idea how hard it is to clean eggs up off a floor and off of a spaztic two year old? I hurt my back and my knee while cleaning everything up. My back is better today, but my knee (the one that's already injured) hurts.

Rob came home for lunch because he felt bad for me and so that he could put the baby-proofing fridge lock on the fridge. My drink got spilled out (the whole thing) onto the carpet and they messed up my order so that it was inedible. I ordered a southern chicken sandwich. The box was for the southern chicken sandwich, and the sandwich was made the way they make the southern chicken sandwich (bun and pickles), however the patty wasn't chicken. It was a nasty as fish patty. Ew.

At one point yesterday, I nearly passed out. I got up and felt dizzy and my vision started going dark, so I collapsed onto the comfy chair to keep myself from blacking out. Gabriel climbed onto me and started licking my face. When I asked him what he was doing, he responded by saying "I cat". He's too cute for words sometimes (when he's not smashing eggs on the floor).

Later that night, things started getting better. We headed out to the post office and got dinner from TGI Friday's for takeout. We found a way to get Gabriel to eat veggies (other than hidden in his juice). Friday's has a "crispy green bean fries" appetizer which Gabriel liked and ate. Woot! Veggies!

So, late last night Gabriel surprised us with how scary smart he us. I have little nubs on the bottom of my slippers. He walked over and counted them across (6) and then he counted them down (15) and looked at me and said "ninety!". That wigged me out a bit and so I looked at Rob and asked him what six times fifteen was... it's ninety. Now, I know Gabriel knows his numbers and can count realy high (yes, even into the nineties), but how the hell can he do multiplication when I haven't tried to teach him that yet? I can't even do multiplication.

This morning I decided to do a little research online. Apparently, there are scary smart people out there who can look at things and know how many of them there are. There are also people who instinctively know that X by Y equals Z. That's what Gabriel did. He knew that six by fifteen was ninety! How freakin' scary smart is this kid?

I think I'm in way over my head when my two year old is smarter than I am. So now he's starting to read and do complex math.
