We didn't go to the Ren Faire because it was in the 90's and humid out. We're hoping to be able to go once more next weekend. Saturday was our usual day of errands. We went to Fresh Market for some breakfast cookies for Gabriel (two of the racing sausages were there and they were giving free bratwusrt and steak samples, yum). We went to Babies R Us for a DVD protector, a TV protector, and some diapers. We stopped at the pet store for some soft food for Sydney. We stopped at the drug store for my BC prescription. We stopped at another drug store for some other items. And we did our grocery store run for the week. We got some Chinese food for dinner and gamed some on Saturday night. We also got to deal with some more family drama. Sunday we had fun. We headed out to an Italian deli for lunch and I was able to get a rice ball for lunch. The first, and only, time I have ever had a rice ball before was when we were out in New York last Thanksgiving. We then drove to a roadside farmer's corn stand and got a bunch of fresh sweet corn and some fresh cucumbers as well. From there we headed to Linens N Things and bought a grill. We're not allowed to have a propane or charcoal grill in this apartment, so we bought one that is the size of (and looks just like) a small round grill, only it's electric. It's one of those George Forman grills. I had a small counter top one awhile ago and loved it. Now we have a big on on our balcony. Woot! We then went back to the pet store so I could pick up a new brush for Sydney. We made a quick run home to drop off the veggies and then headed back out for ice cream. Gabriel LOVED the ice cream (he wanted chocolate) and kept screaming ICE CREAM when he was eating it. We then drove around Wauwatosa for awhile. I showed Rob the house my Mom grew up in and then we drove around a super ritzy neighborhood for awhile. There were GORGEOUS mansions there for less that 700k. Granted, we can't afford anything like that when we house hunt, but it's so cool to see the price differences between here and LA. We figured out that when I'm working we *might* be able to push 300k for a house. Maybe. After driving around we found the ONE place in all of Wisconsin that serves boba (feeeesh eyes) drinks! It's a small Japanese sushi place tucked away in a strip mall. I got a plum tea with boba. *drools uncontrollably* We then went to Fresh Market to get some rib eye steaks for dinner and headed home for the night. Rob bathed the Poopchuck shortly after we got back home and then we made fresh corn (boiled) and steak (grilled on our new electric gril) for dinner. It was sooooo good. The leftover corn we had we gave to our neighbors downstairs (they had previously given us leftover cake) and they seemed super happy to get the fresh corn. We watched Big Brother and then some of the Olympics before going to bed. I called the vet's office this morning and am taking Sydney back to the vet on Wednesday morning. He's having mouth pain and won't let me near his upper right side. When I look there, I can see something off white (that almost looks like a tooth fragment) sticking out of his gum. It's soft and wobbly and is causing him pain. I wish I could get him in earlier, but I don't have anyone to watch Gabriel today. Tomorrow, I would have had to cancel my doctor appointment to get him in. So... Wednesday morning it is. Luckily for me, Mom can watch Gabriel while I take him in and then she'll probably head home. Mom is coming into town today. She's going to get here around 4pm and Rob's going to get home from work early around then as well. She's going to watch Gabriel while we take one last look at the Toyota Rav4 and the Subaru Forester... without a screaming tantrum-throwing toddler in tow. Tomorrow I have my doctor's appointment. ----------
